What is MUQAWAMA Fitness?

Muqawama is a locally born project delivering General Physical Preparedness training and other fitness services through effective programming which uphold Islamic values, the highest of which is PURPOSE.

What does muqawama mean?

Muqawama (muqāwama): resistance, opposition, struggle.

What are your current offerings?

We currently hold two men’s training sessions on Sunday morning and one men’s training session on Thursday night. Please see the CALENDAR for the most up to date schedule.

Open gym, expanded class schedule and ladies-only training sessions will be offered in the future, in sha Allah.

Where do you train?

We train in a fully equipped gym which is reserved exclusively for us. It is not a Muqawama owned facility, but that is in the works insha’Allah! As such, the exact address is shared during the registration process. Here is an approximate location:

NOTE: Reservations are opened 7 days prior to the scheduled class.

What is the cost of a MUQAWAMA training session?

A single attendance pass is $15.

A once-a-week attendance membership is $55 per month.

A twice-a-week attendance membership is $100 per month.

What should I expect in a MUQAWAMA training session?

A fully structured hour of training with four primary sections: Intro/warm up, skill building, workout and cool down/mobility.

Medium to medium-high intensity during the primary workout of the session.

Motivational nasheed (percussion only) played throughout portions of the training.

A punctual start at the scheduled time.

I have not exercised much in quite some time, is this right for me?

Absolutely! All of the training can be scaled to your individual fitness level whether you’re an athlete or just starting your fitness journey.
